Design inspiration for Senior Capstone- “The Bride of the Bug Collector”
The concept of the music video was following the life of two lovers, one who would ultimatley meet their demise. This design would be the wedding dress of one of these lovers, and seen near the beginning of the video
Design for the second of the two lovers- the protector. She wishes to help her wife but throughout the course of the song is unable to saver her from her demise
"The paranoia robe", driven mad by her own paranoid thoughts, this robe is the costume that the character would ultimately die in, near the end of the song.
Paranoia robe fashion flat- front. Though a very abstract and conceptual project, I wanted to gain a sense of how some of these designs may actually be constructed. This robe takes heavy influences from the construction of the bustle.
Paranoia robe fashion flat- back. A key detail on this piece is the keyhole opening on the upper back. Like that of a stab wound, a string of red gems and trimming would fall down from this opening, symbolizing the betrayal the character feels about her surroundings
Concept art of a still from the music video. I wanted the atmosphere to feel surreal and suffocating, to further push the paranoia themes and feelings of the designs
